Who We Are.......
Based out of Russell, Ontario we are JD and Krista Robb and together we are Robb Shots Photography. We are a husband and wife team who love to take photos and work with one another. I mean, Who doesn't appreciate being able to do something that they love with their best friend? We serve all of the greater Ottawa and Eastern Ontario regions as well as parts of Quebec. We are willing to travel if we can make it work, so please inquire if you have photography needs outside of these areas.
So... here we go. We LOVE taking pictures! Bet you’re shocked right? Photographers who love taking Pictures? Lol. But really we do! We love the experience of being able to be part of special moments and bringing our creative eye to the table. The mood, the goosebumps, the butterflies, the feelings, the atmosphere....... It’s all just so darn beautiful and fun and exciting! All of the hundreds of precious fleeting moments that if you know just where and when to look, are right there in front of you to capture forever.
Our personalities compliment each other well. We are both very "go with the flow" kind of people. We believe that life is what you make it, so why not give it your all? John-David (JD) is wonderful with people. He has an incredible sense of humour and contagious zest for life. I mean, it’s a little embarrassing when all of a sudden he is dancing dramatically down the isles at the grocery store out of nowhere because the are playing a song that he likes, but hey….I married him - gotta have fun right? He knows how to step back and let others shine and how to make people feel at ease and ready to take on the day. He does a lot of the behind the scenes work that he never gets enough credit for but is happy to do it. He is great at working a room and has an incredible memory and knowledge of all things tech. As for me? I’ve been told that I have an eye for beauty. My artistic brain makes me good at seeing what would make an amazing photo and making it happen. I've always been crafty and love all things creative. I have an incredible eye for detail and bring all kinds of unique ideas with me. Oh! And I am insanely (and annoyingly) organized which is super important when working with so many different people. It helps make sure we don't miss out on any amazing shots! I am very detail and theme oriented so I bring an extra element to the table. Together, John-David and I make the perfect team to run our business.
Our Approach...
We love working with other people and getting to know what makes each of our couples, families, or individuals unique. It’s part of the process and a big part of what enables us to provide the best experience and subsequently our best photos. This is a big part of why we are offering a complementary engagement session to each of the couples who commit to us for their wedding. Getting the opportunity to understand each couple and their wishes for their big day makes the experience more natural for all parties involved. We strive for complete comfort to avoid those awkward posed photos. This same is true of any session that we do. We want to know a little bit about you so that we can capture and prepare for moments that are true to you. A little extra time and effort Is more than worth it (and it will show). We want our photos to be full of life and truly capture the day - no matter the type of session you are experiencing. Our style is to capture beautiful and naturally occurring candid moments. We want our photos to tell a story.
Getting to know our clients also allows for us to bring some unique ideas to the table that are specifically tailored to original themes, personalities and visions. Nobody wants a cookie cutter (been there, seen that) set of photos. We give you YOUR photos. We help you tell YOUR story.
